Hardcore Gaming, On The Go

Razer Reveals It's First iOS Game Controller, The Junglecat

iOS game controllers have always seem like a good idea, providing powerful controls without covering most of your iPhone's screen with on screen controls but on the downside, they have been unusably large, giving you that extra bulk. Razer's new Junglecat however, might be one of the best options yet.

Available in Malaysia for SRP 299 (According to Razer's Asia Website),  the Junglecat comes in two variants, Black or White. To unsuspecting eyes, it looks just like an ordinary plastic iPhone case that doubles it's size though not terribly heavy. But the bottom half of the case slides out to reveal a four way D-pad, ABXY Buttons abd two bumpers for your index fingers. The design kinda reminds you of a Nintendo 3DS or Sony's Xperia Play. It's small, comfortable to use, though i really wish the D-pad were a joystick instead. There is no battery inside the hefty case, but Razer said that it does't use much power - and it has a micro USB port that you can charge your phone trough the case. That would be handy for travelers. This is a controller you're meant to leave on all the time. It's for the hardest of hardcore gamers.

Like most iOS controllers, the Junglecat connects to your to your phone via the Lightning Connector, should be easy for anyone to set it up. It supports thousands of games compatible with controllers Apple says , and there's even a Razer-made app that make it easy to find those games and even map you controller to suit your preference. Unfortunately, there's still a fair amount of back-and-forth between the touch screen and the controller as you scroll trough menus and options, but that's a bigger problem than Razer
